EVER NEW IS THE HORIZON

EVER NEW IS THE HORIZON

Spring is in the air.   Birds on the wing, and stirrings in the bushes.   The horizon beckons me on to dream and to imagine the possibilities.
A good walk begins with the first step.   Into the future we may go, trusting the Heavenly Father for guiding our way.

I would like to share a sermon on GOD GIVEN WISDOM from Henry Cash's files.

Walk with me as I blog along -
I will share some of His blessings as I go.

SPRING TIME - YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN

YE MUST BE BORN AGAIN

Jesus had been busy, proclaiming who He was, and telling everyone that He was from the Father.  He even entered into the Temple, and sent out all the buyers and sellers with their animals.  "Take these things hence, make not my Father's house an house of merchandise."  [John chapter 2.16].    It was Passover time.   And Nicodemus came at night.

The day had been filled with questions.   What sign will you give us? the leaders asked him ?    What sign of authority do you have ? to do this?   And He responded :   "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up."    Then they said,  "Forty and six years this temple was in building, and you will rear it up in three days?"   They had no clue as to what he was saying.   John chapter 2.21 to 23 tells us :  " But he spake of the temple of his body.   When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them, and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said."

So in the evening, when no one would know that he came,  Nicodemus came to inquire of Jesus.    A man of the Pharisees, he was a "ruler of the Jews".    A person of known leadership, yet he came that night.    "Rabbi,  we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him."
Jesus  replies "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again,
he cannot see the Kingdom of God."  [John 3.3].
Responding,  Nicodemus asks "How can a man be born when he is old?  can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?"   Jesus replies, "Verily, Verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot
enter into the Kingdom of God."  [John 3.5]   He goes on to say "that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.    Marvel not that I say unto you, Ye must be born again.  The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit.  [John 3.4 - 8].
Nicodemus answered and said unto him, "How can these things be?"
My heart fills with love for the Lord Jesus Christ as I continue on in the record of what He said to Nicodemus.    He knew Who He was, What He had come to do, and What was Needed for us to know Him.   He made it very plain.
Jesus responds to Nicodemus with these words:

Are you a master of Israel and knowest not these things?
Verily, Verily I say unto thee, we speak that we do know, and testify
that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.    If I have told
you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I
tell you of heavenly things?   [John ch. 3.10,11, 12]

Then Jesus continues,  And no man hath ascended up to heaven,
but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is
in heaven.   And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness,
even so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whosoever believeth
in him should not perish but have eternal life.  FOR GOD SO LOVED THE
WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER
BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH, BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE.
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but
that the world through him might be saved.      He that believeth on
him is not condemned; but he that believeth not is condemned
already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only
begotten Son of God."   [John 3.13 - 18]

Nicodemus was one of those who were LOOKING for the KINGDOM OF GOD.   And here now, Jesus, Y'SHUA, was telling him that he must be born into that kingdom.   He is listening.   He had seen Jesus cast out the merchants from the temple along with the animals.   Then he had sat and taught in the Temple.  He must have questions running through his mind.   He is distraught, because he knows the other Pharisees do not like Y'SHUA at all.   They are very determined to find his weakness, and to criticize.    Not Nicodemus.   He came, seeking.

Everyone knew WHO JESUS WAS.    THEY KNEW his lineage.   It was recorded in the Temple.   They knew of him as the Rightful Heir of the line of David.   They knew that THIS MIGHT BE MESSIAH.    But they did not like what he was telling them.   They were looking for S I G N S  but He was telling them, He was the ONLY ONE and that He was from Heaven, and would go back to Heaven.   And that Life came from believing in Him.

Jesus went on to say 'And this is the condemnation that Light is come into the world and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
For everyone that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest their deed should be reproved.     But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be manifest, that they are wrought in God."     [John 3.19 21].

Nicodemus would understand what he was saying about Moses and the serpent being raised in the wilderness.    The account is told in Numbers 21 that the people were again complaining and murmuring that "there was no bread, and no water"  even though they were receiving MANNA from heaven as needed, and even though God told Moses to strike the rock for water.    So God sent serpents among the people and they were being bitten by these.   Many died.   God told Moses to make a serpent of BRASS - which speaks of JUDGMENT - up on a pole.   So he did.
They were told to LOOK AT THE SERPENT - AND THEY WOULD BE HEALED.

Nicodemus knew that the sin was represented by the serpent on the cross.
Now here is Y'shua telling him that only by being born into the family can he see the Kingdom of God, and furthermore, that He, Y'shua would be lifted up just as the serpent was.    The Cross was why Jesus, Y'shua, came.    He came to be our once and for PASSOVER LAMB to bear our sins on the Cross of Golgotha.    He came knowing what he had come to do was the only way for us to be born of the Spirit.

It never records what Nicodemus did.    I would like to think he did find Christ.   Scripture does not speak on this.    I do however, wish to say, that I know I have come into the family of those who are BORN AGAIN.   I found that reading God's Word watered my soul with living water and refreshing life because the Good News of God's love has opened my life to God, and I believed that Jesus is just who He says He is, and that He has become my Savior.    I am thankful that Jesus came to give us LIFE ETERNAL, LIFE EVERLASTING, and that He has given me His Spirit to live inside me that I may find Hope and Strength and Joy in my life.   His Spirit living in me is the way God has sealed me for Himself, that someday I will be with Him forever.

With Jesus as my Savior, because I believe in the Name of the Only Begotten Son of God, and because I am resting on His Promise that He is living with me through the dear Holy Spirit, I am filled with the source of Water that will never ever run dry.      Jesus said " He that believeth on me, as the Scripture hath said,  Out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."  [John 7.38]

Again,  Jesus declared, I am the Light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life."  [John 8.12]

Are you like Nicodemus seeking? to discover WHO THIS JESUS IS?
I encourage you to search the Scriptures and to learn of Him.

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness,
hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of
the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ."    II Corinthians 4.6

BEGINNINGS AGAIN

BEGINNINGS AGAIN

CHRISTMAS IS A TIME TO GIVE AND RECEIVE

FELLOWSHIP AND FAMILY

In Christmas, giving of gifts and receiving is a part of the joy in all the giving. Fellowship with our families is the biggest part of the time at Christmas.   In I John chapter 3. verses 1 and 2 tell us "Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.  Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."
Again, in I John 5.1 The Bible tells us "Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. "
This is my first blog post since my HIP OPERATION on March 18th, and I am happy to be back to blogging again with you dear ones who will be reading my posts.    I pray that you have a Christ-filled Christmas and much pleasure in giving and receiving of gifts.
In Jesus we have the privilege of receiving His Love and giving of that same lovThe e to others.     As we go through this Christmas, we need to be aware that New Year's Eve is just around the corner and this is a time of  BEGINNINGS AGAIN.
With the expectation of receiving a gift, we do not set it under the tree for it to just be looked at, without opening it.     With Jesus' who came as THE ETERNAL KING to give his life for all who would believe, the Angel told Joseph "Thou shalt call His name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins."  Matthew 1.21
The best way to celebrate Christmas is to OPEN the G I F T of  God's love,  Jesus Christ Himself, as my Lord and Savior.    The fellowship with the LORD God through the Savior
by the Very Presence of the Holy Ghost (Spirit) in our lives is a precious treasure to cherish and hold close.
As  I look toward a New Year, I will look to BEGINNING AGAIN with refreshed hope and renewed trust in the Living God, our One God who is manifested to us In Three Persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.     May God give you His Presence in the days ahead.

HOMEPLACE MEANDERINGS have taken me back to 1987 when my husband Henry and I took off for 88 days to travel over 34 states to visit family, friends, and to see the beautiful country we have.   It was well worth the trip.

As I look into this photo, I remember that many of those we visited are now with the Lord and I am still here.   How I cherish the moments we enjoyed as we traveled together.   It was a dream come true.

Blogging is not something I am familiar with, but writing and typing is something I can do.  In my home, I have much to do from all those years together that we had.   I  look forward to sharing my faith, and to letting my husband's messages encourage you as I wend my way into another year.

For a starter, I will post his message Watch and Be Ready.   Look for it.

A PILGRIM ON A JOURNEY TO HEAVEN MY HOME

JUNE'S HOMEPLACE

A PILGRIM ON A JOURNEY TO HEAVEN MY HOME

                    HEAVEN.    I AM HEAVEN BOUND.
A PILGRIM ON A JOURNEY, AND UNTIL
I ARRIVE, MY LIFE BELONGS TO HIM

How I long for others to know the Lord GOD as I do.  It is most poignant to me that I have come to depend on Christ as my Lord and Savior, and that in Him I have access to the Father, and that in His dear Holy Spirit, I have been born from above.    My life is fully His now, and in the TRIUNE GOD WHO ALONE IS THE LORD GOD and WHO ALONE IS SOVEREIGN AND KING of all things, He is responsible for me.    As I spend some time in the hospital for a revision of my left hip, I aim to put more time into my blogs and into serving our Lord in all that I do, where ever I go, and however He leads me.
Count on my blogs to point to the ONE who alone can and will SAVE.    Matthew 1.21  The angel told Joseph, "you shall call his name JESUS, for He shall save His people from their sins."   JESUS means "Jehovah - the deliverer, the Savior, the one who redeems.    Joshua and Jesus both mean the same thing.
In my blog JUNE'S HOMEPLACE,   I will keep posting things that will point to Christ, helping others to understand and know Him.
My blessings.    The Heavenly Father was made known by Jesus coming all the way from heaven to be born as a little Babe in a manger, and then, being THE SON OF MAN He took on our sins and our sorrows by dying on the Cross as the Lamb of God slain from before the foundation of the world.   Isaiah chapter 53 tells us directly what the suffering Savior would experience on the cross 700 years later.    Jesus wants you to know Him.   Do  join me in my blog, and learn of Him.   You may contact me by e mail from any of my blogs.   Thank you so much.

MY JOURNEY BEGINS WITH THE FIRST STEP

                                                    MARK CHAPTER 6.32 - 44
                                                    MATTHEW 14.13 - 21
                                                    LUKE 9. 10 - 17

JESUS  HAD A LOT OF PEOPLE LOOKING FOR HIM, BECAUSE THE
PROPHET JOHN THE BAPTIST HAD JUST BEEN BEHEADED BY KING HEROD. THE PEOPLE KNEW THAT JOHN HAD TOLD THEM JESUS WAS THE ONE HE POINTED THEM TO.    SO NOW THEY WERE COMING, MANY FOLK, OLD AND YOUNG, POOR AND RICH,
FROM EVERYWHERE ALL AROUND.   THEY LISTENED TO HIM FOR THREE DAYS.
NO ONE LEFT.   THEY LOVED HEARING JESUS SPEAK.
THE DISCIPLES CAME TO JESUS AND ASKED TO HAVE SEND THE PEOPLE AWAY.   THEY WERE TIRED AND HUNGRY, AND THIS WAS A WILDERNESS.  THERE WERE NO SUPERMARKETS AROUND.   THERE WERE NO FAST FOOD PLACES.   THEY SAID, SEND THEM AWAY.  WE NEED TO REST AND TO EAT.
JESUS LOOKED AT THEM, AND TOLD THEM,  "YOU GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO EAT."    OH MY !
THEY SAID,  "SHALL WE GO AND BUY FOOD FOR THIS PEOPLE ?  THERE IS NOT ENOUGH MONEY TO PAY FOR THIS MANY PEOPLE !
JESUS SAID,  'HOW MANY LOAVES DO YOU HAVE?
NOW THINK ABOUT IT.   JESUS WAS SAYING,  DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE AT HAND ?
A LITTLE BOY HAD COME WITH ALL THE PEOPLE.   THREE DAYS HE HELD ON TO HIS LUNCH.   THREE DAYS HE PROBABLY HAD GOT HUNGRY, BUT THEN HE GOT TO THINKING ABOUT JESUS.   JESUS HAD NOT EATEN.   SO HE BROUGHT THE LUNCH TO JESUS.   HE COULD HAVE EATEN IT HIMSELF.   HE DID NOT.
WE DO NOT KNOW IF THE DISCIPLES WENT ABOUT ASKING IF ANYONE HAD FOOD?  WE DO NOT KNOW.   WE DO KNOW THAT THE LITTLE GAVE WHAT HE HAD TO JESUS.

WHEN JESUS HEARD THE DISCIPLES SAY WE HAVE FIVE LOAVES AND TWO FISHES, HE TOLD THEM TO HAVE EVERY ONE SIT DOWN ON THE GRASS, AND SO EVERYBODY WAITED TO SEE WHAT JESUS WAS GOING TO DO.  THEY WERE EXPECTING SOMETHING ! TO HAPPEN.   THEY DID NOT SEE ANY FOOD.   THEY DID NOT KNOW WHY THEY WERE SITTING DOWN.   BUT THEY WERE TIRED, THEY KNEW.  STANDING TO LISTEN WAS THE EXPECTED WAY TO LISTEN TO A TRAVELING MAN WHO KNEW SO MUCH.  THEY DID NOT WANT TO MISS A WORD OF WHAT HE SAID.

SO NOW, SITTING DOWN, JESUS HAD LOOKED AT THEM AS BEING LIKE SHEEP WITHOUT A SHEPHERD.   THEY MISSED JOHN.   NOW HERE THEY WERE, HAVING LOST A TEACHER, A FRIEND, AND A GOOD MAN, AND THEY WERE HURTING.  JESUS CARED ABOUT THEM.
WHEN EVERYONE SAT DOWN, AND THEY WERE WATCHING HIM,, JESUS THEN TOOK THE FIVE LOAVES AND THE TWO FISHES, AND LOOKING UP TO HEAVEN, HE BLESSED THE BREAD, AND FISH, AND THEN STARTED TO BREAK THEM INTO PIECES AND PASSED THEM TO THE TWELVE.   THE TWELVE PASSED IT OUT TO THE PEOPLE.
THE PEOPLE WERE SITTING IN GROUPS OF HUNDREDS AND IN FIFTIES, SO I IMAGINE FAMILIES WERE TOGETHER, PEOPLE WERE TOGETHER, BUT NOBODY PUT A FUSS ABOUT TAKING TURNS.   THEY JUST WATCHED THE BREAD AND THE FISH BEING BROKEN AND PASSED ON TO EACH AND AS EACH RECEIVED THEIR SHARE, THEY IN TURN MUST HAVE PASSED ON TO THOSE BY THEM AS WELL.   IT GOT ALL PASSED OUT.
THE STORY GOES THAT FIVE THOUSAND MEN, PLUS WOMEN AND CHILDREN WERE THERE.   THERE MUST HAVE BEEN AT LEAST MORE WOMEN THAN MEN THERE, AND MANY MANY CHILDREN.   EACH ONE GOT SOMETHING, AND IT SAYS THAT THEY ATE AND WERE SATISFIED   THEY WERE FILLED.
ALSO,  IT SAYS THAT AFTER THEY GOT DONE, JESUS TOLD THE DISCIPLES PICK UP THE PIECES THAT ARE LEFT OVER.    AND GUESS WHAT ! ?  THERE WERE ENOUGH PIECES TO FILL 12 BASKETS FULL OF THE FRAGMENTS.
I BELIEVE JESUS WANTS YOU AND ME TO USE WHAT WE HAVE WHEN WE ARE HUNGRY, OR, NEEDY, OR NEED SOMETHING, THEN WE OUGHT - I OUGHT - TO LOOK AROUND - AND START WITH WHAT I HAVE.
WHEN WE USE WHAT WE HAVE - NOT WE DON'T HAVE - THEN GOD WILL SUPPLY AS WE SHARE WHAT WE HAVE WITH THOSE WHO DO NOT HAVE.
WHEN WE USE WHAT WE HAVE, GOD WILL SUPPLY ENOUGH FOR OTHER TIMES WHEN WE NEED SOMETHING.   WE NEED TO REMEMBER TO SIT DOWN AND WAIT ON GOD FOR HIS PROVISION, AND TRUST HIM TO SHOW US WHAT HE HAS.
THEN WE NEED TO SHARE WHAT WE HAVE WITH OTHERS.   AS WE DO, GOD WILL INCREASE.    THEN WE NEED TO PICK UP AFTER OURSELVES SO WE DO NOT LEAVE A MESS BEHIND WHEN GOD PROVIDES.   ALSO WE COULD USE LEFT OVERS FOR A FUTURE TIME, OR JUST TO REMIND US OF HOW BIG A BLESSING GOD GAVE THAT LITTLE BOY.
IN JOURNEYING WITH GOD, WHEN WE LOSE OUR BEST FRIEND, OUR HUSBAND, OUR SON OR DAUGHTER, OUR MOTHER OR FATHER, OR JUST DO NOT HAVE A HOME, WE CAN START USING WHAT WE HAVE TO GET THROUGH OUR NEXT DAY.   SIT AND THINK ABOUT IT.   DECIDE WHAT IT IS THAT YOU NEED.
DISCOVER WHAT IT IS THAT YOU DO HAVE.   DO NOT BE THINKING OF THE STOMACH BEING EMPTY SO MUCH THAT YOU CANNOT COPE.  THINK WHAT DO I HAVE THAT I COULD USE TO HELP ME GET WHAT I NEED.   START WITH AN INVENTORY OF WHAT I DO HAVE,
THEN BE SURE TO THANK GOD FOR THE FOOD BEFORE YOU EAT,IT, AND
TO THANK GOD FOR THE NEED YOU HAVE BEFORE HE MEETS IT, AND TRUST HIM TO GIVE IT TO YOU.    PHILIPPIANS 4.19   BUT MY GOD SHALL SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO  HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS
